Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing Graduate wins Leadership Award
Magali Cox-Espinoza, dual degree graduate from Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing ’25 (AS) and Siena University ’26 (BS) was awarded the American Nurses Association Leadership Award.
Magali shared the following thoughts about her experience at Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing:
“Truly, I would not be here without the incredibly supportive instructors and staff at Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing. My experience at the school of nursing was an instrumental part of my nursing journey. My training through the associate degree program gave me the skills and confidence that I needed. I am very happy to have come through Samaritan for my associate’s degree. I am also excited to share with you that I will be starting my nursing career as a school nurse with BOCES Capital Region.”
Magali, Congratulations, we are proud of you!
Special Pinning Moment, no graduate left behind!
Two Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing Students were unable to attend their pinning ceremony because as duty calls, they were scheduled to work. After the ceremony, several faculty traveled to 6 tower at Samaritan Hospital and surprised them with their very own “on the job” pinning ceremony.
Nurse’s Pinning Ceremony
On Sunday May 17th the Samaritan Hospital Alumni and Student Government Associations sponsored a nurse’s pinning ceremony in the St. Mary’s chapel for 27 Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing graduates. A nurse’s pinning ceremony is a rite of passage for nurses and symbolic of the faculty welcoming their graduates into the profession of nursing. It was a beautiful ceremony filled with pride and joy. Congratulations to our graduate nurses!
