PN to RN Transition

PN to RN Transition Course

Entering the AD Program

For progression into our Associate Degree program, students must apply for, and be granted, admission. Official transcripts are required as part of the application. Students who apply for advanced placement are not automatially admitted.

Students licensed as a Practical Nurse have two options for entry:
  • Start our program in NSG I
  • Be admitted as an Advanced Placed LPN into NSG II, Medical Surgical Nursing

Students admitted to NSG II will be required to attend the Bridge Program prior to the start of school, which will review the following: fundamental nursing care, physical assessment, glucometer use, medication administration, PPE Donning and Doffing, clean dressing changes, documentation, basic dosage calculation, and nursing process. Students are expected to be proficient in these skills to enter Nursing 2. Students have 24-hour access to the lab for practice once attending the Bridge Program.
