Vizient/AACN
Nurse Residency Program™

St. Peter’s Health Partners is proud to offer the Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™ (NRP) to help newly licensed RNs successfully transition into clinical practice. We are committed to empowering you with the tools, resources, and support you need to navigate your professional journey and reach your full potential. This year-long program serves as an additional layer of support, complementing your orientation and preceptorship experience.

As a nurse resident, you will attend monthly seminars and receive mentoring from experienced nurses, build relationships with peers and engage in learning experiences in a supportive environment. The program’s evidence-based curriculum will enhance your ability to:

  • Increase decision-making competence and confidence
  • Build stronger clinical nursing leadership and communication skills
  • Incorporate consistent use of evidence-based practice
  • Foster self-care, wellness and resiliency strategies
  • Formulate an individualized professional development plan

All newly licensed RNs hired at St. Peter’s Hospital and Samaritan Hospital (includes Albany Memorial Campus) are enrolled into a NRP cohort during the first week of acute care nursing orientation.  We look forward to providing you with the support and encouragement you need as you grow into the nurse you’ve aspired to be.
