St. Peter's Hospital delivered a record 335 babies in the month of July! One day alone saw 26 deliveries -- more than double the daily average.
Benjamin Pinzer, director of maternity and newborn services, and Morgan Wilson RN, labor and delivery nurse, spoke to WRGB/CBS 6 News about the milestone:
“I think we embraced it. We leaned in, and we all jumped in. I think it was in all hands on deck. We are here for the community, as everyone knows. And we got the job done,” said Benjamin Pinzer, St. Peter’s director of maternity and newborn services.
Registered nurse Morgan Wilson said the pace was intense. “I don't even remember it. I actually worked 16-hour day that day because I stayed extra four hours to help. It was just very busy,” Wilson said.
The total marked the most babies born in a single month at St. Peter's since the hospital's founding in 1869.
