Northeast Health

Northeast Health, a regional, comprehensive, not-for-profit network of healthcare, supportive housing and community services, was formed in 1995 by the merger of Samaritan Hospital and The Eddy, and joined by Albany Memorial Hospital in 1997 and Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital in 2007.

All of the members of Northeast Health have long-standing histories of caring for the community. Its hospitals — Albany Memorial and Samaritan — were founded in 1868 and 1898, respectively, and Sunnyview in 1928.

The Eddy, Northeast Health's long-term care continuum, was founded in 1928 as a 19-bed nursing home. Today, Eddy services include four nursing homes; five retirement communities with independent and enriched housing/assisted living; multiple-site adult day programs; in-home health care, including visiting nurses, home health aides and therapists; rehabilitation; respite care; Alzheimer' services; and a nationally modeled Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).

Northeast Health also provides primary care services at seven locations throughout the Capital Region.

Northeast Health is Capital Regions fourth largest private-sector employer, reaching 22 counties of upstate New York and serving more than 175,000 people annually. For more information, please visit
